Mega Swagbucks Friday

On Fridays, Swagbucks likes to give away lots of extra Swagbucks!

If you're not familiar with Swagbucks, it's basically a website/search engine. When you use it, you are rewarded with digital dollars, which you can then redeem for gift cards, music downloads and other prizes. It's very easy to use and the points do add up quickly, especially if you use their search engine instead of Google or Yahoo. They also have a toolbar you can download that will randomly add Swagbucks into your account for searching and sometimes just for doing nothing! They also take electronics for recycling that will earn points for your account and they offer point-earning surveys, special offers and other things that will accumulate points quickly. I normally use my Swagbucks to purchase Amazon gift cards (450 points earns $5). 700 points will earn $5 Paypal. A friend of mine did all her Christmas shopping last year using money/gift cards earned from Swagbucks! I replaced Google with Swagbucks and I'm able to cash in for several $5 gift cards per month. In the last few months I've cashed out over $100 in Amazon gift cards just from using their search engine, taking a few surveys and entering some of the Swagcodes they occasionally post on their blog/site.

Bath & Body Works online is having a sale on their products. Selected items are buy 3, get 3 free. To make it even better you can get 3% back on your purchase through Ebates.

Your cashout threshold is $5 and you must click through Ebates to the site you want to shop at to receive the cash back. They do not include what you spent on tax or shipping to calculate the cash back amount. They also give a $5 bonus if you're a new Ebates shopper.

Remember that you must go through Ebates to get the cash back in your account.

$5 Off $25 At Family Dollar Through 9-3

Through Saturday you can get $5 off your $25 purchase at Family Dollar. Family Dollar does take manufacturer coupons but I believe you need to actually have a post-coupon total of $25 to use this coupon.

$10 Off $25 MNG By Mango Purchase

Through October 29th you can save $10 off your $25 purchase of MNG by Mango products at Penney's. I've seen these and they do have some cute things. They're mostly accessories and they can be on the pricey side. However, Penney's frequently has these on clearance so you may score a sweet deal.

Ace Hardware Labor Day Event

If you have an Ace Hardware near you you'll want to check out the Labor Day Event from Sept. 2-5. There are some good deals if you need around-the-house stuff.

Ball canning jars (pint) are $5.50/case which is a very good price. If your store takes coupons (some do not) there are coupons for the jars too.

Selected painting supplies are $.99 and $1.99 after mail in rebate.

Selected insecticides are $1.99 after rebate.

Mold/Mildew stain remover is FREE after rebate.

Work gloves are FREE after rebate.

There are lots of other rebates in the ad. My Ace tips:

1) Get there EARLY. They're usually sold out the first day in the morning on the good deals.

2) Buy exactly the item stated if you're trying to get the rebates.

3) Have an Ace club card (free at the store). It allows you to do rebates online which makes them come more quickly.

4) Keep your receipt and the ads till after your check arrives. I've had a few times when I've had to call their customer service but they usually do a great job.

Roasted Cauliflower

Roasted veggies are one of my favorite things. Roasting gives veggies a deeper flavor and crunch that I just love. I had some cauliflower leftover from my twins' birthday party last weekend. We eat it a lot but I was looking for a change.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

I sliced it into fairly thin slices and then tossed it with about a tablespoon of olive oil. The oil is necessary for the roasting process so please don't skip this step. Without it your veggies will get burnt and charred.

After the cauliflower is coated with olive oil, sprinkle with salt & pepper to taste. I seldom salt anything but just a sprinkle gives this a great flavor.

Spread out on a cookie sheet and bake for approximately 25 minutes. If you want to stir about halfway through that's ok.

This is delicious thrown in a salad or even as a puree.

You can roast just about any veggie but be sure to decrease the cooking time for higher water content veggies like zucchini or squash. Also, starchy or dense veggies like carrots and potatoes take more time.

Free Febreze Noticeables Units (With Coupon)

If you've looked at last weekend's P&G insert you'll see a high-value $3/1 Febreze Noticeables coupon inside. I have found two places where these are free:

Meijer = They are $2.50 and the coupon auto-adjusts to $2.50 so no issues at the register. Also, these are part of a larger spend $30 (pre-coupons) get $10 prepaid card by mail deal. You do need to spend all $30 in one transaction. If you have the free Pantene coupons this is a great time to use them. The large sizes are on sale for $5.79, so just $.79 after the coupon (max value on the coupon is $4.99).

Walmart = I'm seeing on several sites that these are about $2.50 at Walmart as well. I've not been there to confirm. Remember that you can use overage from these towards other items in your order.

Note: I personally think Febreze Noticeables refills are very expensive compared to Glade. Free is free, but you may want to have a look at the prices on the refills before you buy these units.

Recyclebank Green Your School Year--New Activities

You can get more points at Recyclebank with their new Green Your School Year challenge. All you have to do is log in or register, then click on the banner ad for Green Your School Year.

Recyclebank is a free program that rewards members for living a greener life. Some areas participate in the curbside Recyclebank program but codes and links to quizzes that will earn you points are frequently posted on blogs, including this blog. So, even if your area doesn't have curbside you can still earn points and cash out for rewards.

Also, if you live in Toledo be sure to sign up for new curbside recycling reward program. It's run by Recyclebank so you can use your existing account if you have one. You'll need to go to http://www.myrepublicrewards.com/ to link the two up. It just took me a second to do.
