Free Dial Lotion Sample

We'll be getting four and possibly 5 inserts this weekend: a Pepsico one for some areas, a SmartSource, General Mills, Redplum and a P&G. You can preview it here by going to 'coupon resources' and then 'coupon previews'. This will be a great coupon week, I'm hoping! :)

Remember that your area won't receive all the coupons in the previews nor will the values be the same. It's just a good resource to help plan your shopping or to match up with sales. Also it helps to know if you want to try to locate coupons you did not receive from a clipper or another source.

Domino Sugar At Kroger

I saw at Kroger tonight that some varieties of brown sugar and powdered sugar are $2.42. If your store doubles you can get these for as low as $1.42. We have some insert coupons (I don't remember the insert date; sorry). This deal goes through January so it'll be good for holiday baking.

Mega Swagbucks Friday

On Fridays, Swagbucks likes to give away lots of extra Swagbucks!

This is a great time to join Swagbucks if you're not a member. They're offering an extra 70 bonus points in addition to the normal 30 points for joining.

If you're not familiar with Swagbucks, it's basically a website/search engine. When you use it, you are rewarded with digital dollars, which you can then redeem for gift cards, music downloads and other prizes. It's very easy to use and the points do add up quickly, especially if you use their search engine instead of Google or Yahoo. They also have a toolbar you can download that will randomly add Swagbucks into your account for searching and sometimes just for doing nothing! They also take electronics for recycling that will earn points for your account and they offer point-earning surveys, special offers and other things that will accumulate points quickly. I normally use my Swagbucks to purchase Amazon gift cards (450 points earns $5). 700 points will earn $5 Paypal. A friend of mine did all her Christmas shopping last year using money/gift cards earned from Swagbucks! I replaced Google with Swagbucks and I'm able to cash in for several $5 gift cards per month. In the last few months I've cashed out over $100 in Amazon gift cards just from using their search engine, taking a few surveys and entering some of the Swagcodes they occasionally post on their blog/site.

Super Hot Trial Size Deal @ Rite Aid

Rite Aid is due for a great money making deal, and here it is! :)

John Frieda Full Repair (the red bottle) trial sized products are $1.99. If you have a discount it will apply to these. If you purchase 2 Full Repair trial size you'll get a $5 +UP. With a gold discount, these are only $1.19. With a silver disocunt they're $1.59. These are not in the trial size section. They're actually in small bins near the other shampoos.

The limit on this deal is two (in other words, 4 bottles). It is a monthly deal that is advertised in the 10-9 ad. Remember if you max this deal out now you won't be able to participate in the offer for the rest of the month. However, I'll take a money maker over cheap any day! ;)

Free Land O' Lakes Recipe Brochure

I always order the Land O' Lakes recipe booklets when they become available. If you bake, there are great recipes in these! They also have a gluten-free edition that's available for download only. The focus in this booklet is holiday favorites.

Anyway, if you're interested, you must register with their Simple Rewards website (it's free). Then you can request the brochure.

Walgreens Frizz Ease Coupon

Walgreens has a new coupon on their Facebook page. If you buy one Frizz Ease serum you can get another Frizz Ease product free. Starting the week of October 9th (I believe, it's been awhile since I looked at the ad) there will be a $10 RR wyb $20 worth of selected John Frieda products. If you've never tried Frizz Ease products and you have chronic frizz I highly recommend this product! It's always in my arsenal.

Transformers Mail-In Offer

If you have someone in your life who is a Transformers fan you might be interested in this.

Rite Aid Diabetes Promotion

Rite Aid has a diabetes promo running from 9-25 to January 3, 2012. If you buy $50 worth of participating items you'll receive a $10 +UP. Remember this is $50 before all coupons.

Possibly Free Chapstick At Kroger

Brita Rebate

Synovate Accepting New Members

If you're looking for a new survey company, Synovate is once again accepting new members. I'm currently testing shampoo for them, and a friend just finished a laundry detergent test. You earn points which can be redeemed for cold, hard cash. :)

KMart Double Coupons

Kmart** stores are having double coupons September 25th through October 1st. This time coupons up to $.99 face value will double. Also, only health & beauty and grocery coupons will double.

Remember that if you have a B1G1 free coupon where the item costs $.99 or less the coupon will double giving you both items free. The Kmart double coupon guidelines say that these will not double but they do.

**Note: This is not for all areas, so be sure to check before proceeding in your area. Remember that lots of times the employees don't even know doubles are happening. The best thing to do is take something to the register that you have a coupon for and see if it doubles.

Groupon Refunds

I get lots of e-mails from people asking about Groupon and whether or not it's legit. I use lots and lots of these, and I had my first bad experience with a company this week. I will say that Groupon handled it so well that I was pleased with the outcome.

I purchased a Groupon back in the Spring for a massage. It expires in Sept. and for about 2 months I've been trying to schedule with her. After leaving several messages for her, she never called me back. A few weeks after my 2nd attempt to reach her, she changed her voice mail to say that you should e-mail her to schedule and that she'd extended the expiration date on the Groupon. I e-mailed her and again, didn't hear anything at all.

Finally after waiting several weeks I decided I wasn't willing to wait anymore. I e-mailed Groupon and let them know what happened about 10 PM last night.

I woke up this morning to find an apology e-mail from Groupon for the bad experience and a refund on my credit card of the entire purchase price of the voucher.

So, if you've been leery of purchasing Groupons, remember that they do provide excellent customer service and they do stand behind their vouchers.

What Can We Do This Weekend?

Another fairly slow weekend event-wise:

Lowes has a Build & Grow event from 10-11 AM. This time the project is a fire truck with a siren.

Toys R Us is having a celebration for Geoffrey's birthday from noon to 3 PM on Saturday.

Michaels has an American Girl doll event from 10 AM to noon. There will be a make it and take it of a breakfast plate and chef hat for your doll. The 25th will be a make it and take it charger plate project (with purchase of the charger) from 1-3 PM. The charger event is listed as 'adults only'.

Walmart has an event finder on their website so you can check out what's happening in your local area.

Barnes & Noble also has an event finder on their website.

Sunday Coupon Preview

This weekend we'll be getting a SmartSource and a Redplum. Some areas with CVS will also be receiving an insert with manufacturer coupons with CVS logos.

Recyclebank: 5 More Points

You can get 5 more points at Recyclebank. Login or create an account. Once you log in, you'll see a tan box from Kashi off to the right. Click the box, answer the question about package recycling and collect your 5 points. :)

Also, some of the other Recyclebank activities have reset. Just go to 'earn points' in order to see which ones you can do again.

Recyclebank is a free program that rewards members for living a greener life. Some areas participate in the curbside Recyclebank program as well. Codes and links to quizzes that will earn you points are frequently posted on blogs, including this blog.

Family Dollar $5 Off $25

This weekend (Sept. 23-25) Family Dollar has a $5 off $25 coupon available. You can use manufacturer coupons with this, so if you need several things you may be able to get a better deal.

Apparently the Quattro for women is on sale for $5. After the coupon they'll be free.

It also says it may be used multiple times per person.

Walmart.com: K'Nex Deal

Here's a great deal to kick off your Christmas shopping. Walmart.com currently has the K'Nex Super Value Tub (325 pieces) for only $10. They also have the 50 piece Kid K'Nex (for younger kids) for $10. This is online available online. Shipping is free to your store or you can pay $.97 to have it shipped to your home.

This is more than 1/2 off ($21.88 regular price). My oldest loves K'Nex so I highly recommend these for a 5-9 year old that enjoys building-type toys.

Free Dove Nourishing Oil Cream

If you're a fan of Dove hair care, you'll want to request the free sample of oil leave-in conditioner here. I'm having trouble with this site and the login process. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I do.

People often e-mail me and ask what to do with all these samples. Here are some of my ideas:

1) Many food banks will take them.
2) If you know someone who travels frequently they're just the right size.
3) My favorite thing to do: When I know someone is going to be in the hospital I make up a little sample-size bag of things I know they'll need like lotion, lip balm, toothpaste, etc. I put these in a cheapie makeup bag that I score on clearance or at The Dollar Tree. I really like to do this for friends who have babies. It is always a big hit when I include this in a shower gift. :)
